What Does IP65 Mean?

IP stands for Ingress Protection, an international standard (IEC 60529) that classifies the degree of protection provided by enclosures against solids and liquids.

First digit (6) = Dust-tight. Complete protection against dust ingress.
Second digit (5) = Protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction.

This means an IP65-rated touch monitor is completely sealed against dust and can withstand being sprayed with water from a nozzle – making it suitable for washdown environments.
